She and husband Celso have spent many years as itinerant labourers on other farms in neighbouring provinces before returning to the family's allotment, rejuvenating the farm and ultimately grow high quality coffees. She is a new member of the Monkaaba group where she was able to receive valuable feedback on her coffee and processing and have access to market coupled with the bargaining power of the group to demand better pricing.
